Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle
We’ve proudly partnered with TerraCycle® to launch the Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle Recycling Programme.
The Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle Recycling Programme is a free, incentive-based recycling initiative to ensure beauty products are kept in circularity. We’re rethinking the entire process of a beauty product’s lifespan. We’re offering free returns, rewards and recycling for not only our own facial products but for all brands’ facial products within New Zealand. Outside of New Zealand, we take back Emma Lewisham end-of-life material.
How to participate?
Within New Zealand:
The Beauty Circle is an incentivised rewards programme whereby for every four items shipped to TerraCycle through the Beauty Circle, senders receive a $15 Emma Lewisham voucher which is redeemable on our website only.
The voucher cannot be redeemed in conjunction with other Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle vouchers. It is valid until 31 December 2020. The voucher cannot be redeemed for cash. Each voucher can only be used once. Emma Lewisham beauty products are not a requirement to participate in this initiative.
These can be from any skincare brand (it doesn't have to be an Emma Lewisham product.

We’re focused on mitigating the mass-wastage produced by the beauty industry and repurposing packaging that would otherwise be destined for landfill. For years, Emma has strived for clarity around product traceability, with a focus on beauty products’ end of life terminus. It is one thing to claim “100% recyclable packaging”, but what does this actually mean? From Emma’s in-depth market analysis the seeds were sown for this initiative. Through her research, Emma realised the enormity of the beauty packaging problem.
As of 2020, the global cosmetics industry produces 120 billion units of packaging every year and few are accepted by kerbside recycling programmes. Many of the design elements that enable beauty products to be so useable, such as push pumps, make them difficult to recycle. Subsequently, only 9% of plastics produced are recycled and 12% are burned into our atmosphere. All remaining plastic waste ends up in landfill or scattered through the environment.
Our goal is to recycle hundreds of thousands of pieces of product waste through the Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle. The recycled plastic material will be reused for beauty material or to make outdoor products such as picnic tables, and park benches.
The Emma Lewisham Beauty Circle is all part of our relentless pursuit to set a new standard in the beauty industry. We’re proving that luxurious, high performing skincare doesn’t have to come at a compromise to people’s health or the planet’s.
